Roll a Number Worksheet

So Maths is a bit of an unexpected passion in our household. I never particularly warmed to Maths myself as a child. However Laurie is obsessed numbers. The order, the patterns and sequence of numbers. He will count to 100 calmly to pass the time and shout numbers at me when he is cross.

Now he is in Year 1, Maths is beginning to step up a gear now into Tens and Units. I know I certainly haven't forgotten fiddling and frowning at the tiny cubes and sticks from my childhood.

This worksheet, works on a number of different skills including, dice recognition, interpreting value, counting in 10s and 1s and recording data.

So the worksheet is very simple, roll the die and record the values with dots. Then interpret these values into a 2 digit number representing tens and units. To complete the activity the number is then constructed with Tens and Units pieces and counted, counting in 10s and counting on in 1s.

To accompany this document you will also need at least 1 but preferably 2 die, (I use a large dice to support Laurence's vision needs) and a set of Tens and Units. But you could alternatively use small Lego cubes of 2 colours to represent the Tens and Units.

This has proved a good maths activity which Laurie has enjoyed working at Key Stage 1 Level. Click here to access this Free PDF Document!

Enjoy!
